The trends in the collection
Three things run through the season. Texture: croco, lizard and suede replace the box calf that defines the core range, on the same architectural shapes (see croc-embossed bags and brown suede bags). Dark colour: midnight blue and burgundy join black and chocolate as the main colours (navy handbags, how to wear a burgundy bag). And softness: the Colette and the smooth calf Amelot are the house moving towards bags that give, without losing its lines.
Limited to 100 pieces
The embossed Gold Editions are the first Ateliers Auguste bags the house labels as limited, each to 100 pieces. The brand explains its thinking in its own guide to limited editions: small, planned quantities, less waste, more room to experiment with material and colour. In practice it means the croco and lizard bags will not be restocked once they sell through. If you want one, buy it this season.
How the new bags fit with the core range
Every new bag is a new leather, a new colour, on an existing model, except the Colette. So the sizes and what fits are the same as before: the bag sizes guide and bag guide still apply.
