The landscape and the sequins
Bermuda Buttercup is the print you notice first: a photographic landscape of buttercup meadows that falls away to a sunlit coastline. It runs across a straight organic cotton midi dress with a square neckline and spaghetti straps, a long-sleeve polo shirt cut oversized, a knee-length midi skirt and a pair of European linen shorts, each finished with a contrast zig-zag stitch at the hem.
Nieve is the opposite mood. These are knits in a sequinned melange yarn trimmed with long fringe, in khaki and in red: a fitted midi dress with padded shoulders and cap sleeves, a cardigan with fringed cuffs, a mock-neck knit top, capri-length knit pants and a knit midi skirt.
The artist prints: Sophie, Florero and Teo
Three families carry artwork made with the artist Sophie Wahlquist. Sophie is a floral woven as a silk and viscose jacquard in blue (shirt, oversized shirtdress, wide-leg pant and skirt) with a linen sundress alongside. Alita is a scrolling abstract print framed by scarf borders, and it is the biggest family: a linen shirt, a cropped halter top, wide-leg pants, Bermuda shorts with a ruffle peplum, a ruffled organic cotton skirt, a mini tunic dress and a midi shirtdress. Basilia is a sunny painted check in yellow linen, cut as a halter midi dress and a mini shirtdress. Alba is a marbled abstract print in silk, organic cotton and a cotton silk blend, from a halter midi dress with a dropped waist to shirts, shorts and shirtdresses.
Island, rope, Mediterranean and botanical
Lucena wears the island print, a painted panorama of palms, mountains and tropical flowers, on a linen shirt, wide-leg pants, a hemp and silk wrap skirt and three dresses. Sail is a rope print in chocolate and cream on European linen halter dresses, a cropped shirt, a shirtdress and shorts. Martos is a Mediterranean toile of harbour towns and sailing boats on ochre, including the scarf top that matches its wide-leg pant. Alessia is a fern green botanical floral, mostly in hemp. Xander is a spliced floral in silk that pairs two contrasting blooms, and Ellis is a lilac abstract floral that melts into a sunset band at the hem.
