The Signature trench

The one to buy first. It is cut from water-repellent gabardine, a tightly woven cotton twill that sheds a shower, and lined in satin printed with the house monogram. It closes with horn buttons, and the cuffs fasten with small leather-buckled straps you can pull in on a cold day. It is cut oversized, so the shoulder sits a little low and the body falls straight to below the knee. Khaki is the classic shade.

The crisp summer trench

A Garderob piece, from the Totême curation of everyday pieces with a permanent place. It is cotton with recycled polyamide, garment-washed so it looks tumbled and lived in from the first wear, in a natural clay shade. The back storm flap follows the house A-line, and the inverted box pleat is held with a small T-stitch, a detail you only notice up close.

The oversized cotton trench and the washed cotton trench

Two architectural takes. The oversized cotton trench is crisp organic cotton with a slight sheen, a tall funnel neck in place of the usual collar and wide raglan sleeves. The washed cotton trench is double-breasted, cut soft and loose to sit above the knee, with exaggerated lapels, a back yoke and tonal belts at the waist and cuffs. The brand suggests a mini and flats with it to show the shape.

The light spring trench

The lightest of the group, in light organic cotton in a hazel shade, made for the weeks when the temperature changes by the hour. It comes with a matching belt to cinch the waist, which turns the oversized line into a defined one.

The draped satin trench

The evening trench, shown on the Spring Summer 26 runway. It is ankle length, cut from fluid viscose satin, with an integrated storm flap that shapes the sleeves into soft volume, and it is belted at the waist and cuffs. The brand compares the drape to a dressing gown; worn over a slip dress at night it reads as a coat, over denim by day as a statement.

How to size a Totême trench
