Is ME+EM Good Quality? Fabrics, Origin, Fit and Value

0

ME+EM is good quality for its price point. The London label, founded by Clare Hornby in 2009, uses natural fibres for most of its key pieces (100% cashmere knits, pure silk blouses, Italian cotton velvet, Italian leather bags and UK-made shearling) and publishes the fabric and country of manufacture on every product. It is a contemporary brand, not a luxury house, and it is priced between the high street and designer labels.

This guide looks at what ME+EM is made of, where it is made, how it fits and how it compares on price, using the 95 Autumn Winter 2026 pieces new to Coveti as the sample.

Fabrics: where ME+EM is strongest

Cashmere

Seventeen of the new pieces are 100% cashmere, including the Ultimate Boyfriend Jumper in Dark Chocolate Brown ($620) in brushed cashmere and the Icon Zip Hoodie in Navy ($620). The finer Barely There knits are 90% merino and 10% cashmere. See our ME+EM knitwear guide.

Silk and silk blends

Blouses such as the Straight Blouse in Brown Multi ($570) are 100% silk, and the evening velvet is a silk blend of 82% viscose and 18% silk.

Leather and shearling

Bags are made in Italy, mostly from cow leather. Three of the shearling jackets, including the Luxe Leopard Jacket ($2,910), are made in the United Kingdom from Toscana shearling.

British cloth

The Heritage pieces use British Linton Tweed, made in collaboration with the tweed makers Linton Tweeds, and the Heritage Oversized Coat is a British herringbone wool.

Where synthetics are used

The AM-PM fluid velour (89% polyester, 11% elastane) and the satin-backed crepe (triacetate and polyester) are synthetic by design, chosen for stretch, drape and crease resistance rather than as a cost saving. If you want only natural fibres, check the composition on each product page.

Construction and details

ME+EM’s details are thoughtful rather than showy: hidden hook-and-eye fastenings on shearling, ruched back panels and darts on tailoring, matching ties and arm bands on blouses, extra linings on tulle, and detachable handles and collars that make one piece work two ways.

Fit and sizing

ME+EM clothing is sized on the UK ladder from 4 to 18 and generally fits true to size, with knitwear in letter sizes. Product pages list the model’s height and size and a measurement table in centimetres. Our ME+EM size guide has full conversions.

Is ME+EM worth the price?

On Coveti, ME+EM tees start at $250, cashmere jumpers at around $530, dresses run from $570 to $840 and shearling coats exceed $2,000. For pure cashmere, silk and Italian leather that is good value next to designer houses. The pieces that represent the best value are the cashmere knits and the silk blouses; the velour and crepe pieces are bought for their practicality.

Reputation

ME+EM has dressed the Princess of Wales on several public occasions, which we document in ME+EM and the Princess of Wales, and in 2026 it received a Royal Warrant. Read more in who is ME+EM, and compare it with similar labels in brands like ME+EM.
