Saiid Kobeisy review 2026: the cut, the fabrics, the embroidery and the fit

This is a working review of Saiid Kobeisy ready-to-wear, written from the 442 pieces Coveti has handled on 20 September 2026 rather than from a press release: what the fabrics are, how the pieces are cut, how they fit against the EU size run, how the embroidery holds up, and which pieces are worth the price. It is written for the shopper deciding whether to spend $3,422, the median, on a dress from a house she may only know from a red carpet, and it says where the house is strong and where it is not.

“Sculpted lines echo inner strength, while fluid drapes unveil the beauty of vulnerability,” Hannah Longman wrote of The Warrior, the Fall Winter 2025 couture collection shown in Paris, for Fashion Week Online on 14 July 2025. “For the first time, this journey extends across both womenswear and menswear.”

The cut

The house’s strength is pattern-making. A Saiid Kobeisy cape is not a separate piece pinned at the shoulder, it is cut into the dress, so it falls from the seam and moves with the body, and the bows are built the same way. The bodices are structured, the waists are defined, and the skirts, whether a crepe column, a taffeta A-line, an embroidered tulle full skirt, are cut to move. Fashion Week Online’s description of the couture, “sculpted lines” and “fluid drapes,” is an accurate description of the ready-to-wear too. On the rail the pieces look like more dress than the price suggests.

The fabrics

Crepe, tulle, lace, brocade, taffeta, velvet, organza, sequinned fabric, and from 2024, neoprene, scuba and mikado. The house does not publish a fibre composition on its product pages, which is the first thing this review would change, and Coveti records the fabric by name rather than by percentage for that reason. The crepe is a heavy evening crepe that holds a column; the tulle is fine and takes embroidery well; the taffeta is crisp. Fabrics and care goes through each.

The embroidery

The embroidery is what you pay for and it is where the house is most itself. It is placed, not total: a line down a bodice, a scatter over a cape, a border along a hem, with the fabric visible around it. On the couture, Haute Couture News reports, the hand embroidery takes about three months a piece; the ready-to-wear carries the same motifs at a production pace. Sequins and crystal are stitched, not glued, and the reverse of the embroidery is clean on the pieces Coveti has handled.

The fit

The house cuts to EU 34 to 48 and publishes one body chart for every style, bust 86 to 110 cm, waist 66 to 90, hips 92 to 116 across the run, with no sizing correction. Verdict

Buy Saiid Kobeisy for the silhouette and the embroidery, and buy it at the price that matches the occasion: an older-season crepe piece for a dinner, a current-season embroidered gown for a wedding, a gala, a photograph. Do not buy it expecting a composition label, a resale market, and a logo anyone will recognise across the room. The people who will recognise it are the ones who know Beirut eveningwear, and that is the point.
